Seventeen Mayfield Specialists Named to Regional and National 'Top Doctors' Lists

CINCINNATI – Mayfield Brain & Spine proudly reports that 17 of its specialists – 13 neurosurgeons and 4 PM&R specialists – are included in one or more of the newest lists of leading physicians published by Cincinnati Magazine, Cincy Magazine, and Castle Connolly's continuously updated U.S. database.

The Cincinnati Magazine listing includes physicians in 65 specialties who practice in the eight counties that make up the Greater Cincinnati region (Hamilton, Warren, Butler, and Clermont in Ohio; Boone, Campbell, and Kenton in Kentucky; and Dearborn in Indiana). The physicians were selected by their regional peers, who were asked whom they would turn to if they, a family member, or a friend needed medical attention.

The Cincy listing includes Tristate specialists selected by their peers who are included in The Best Doctors in America® 2019-2020 database, compiled and maintained by Best Doctors, Inc. Physicians are nominated by their peers to appear in Castle Connolly's America's Top Doctors® and then screened by Castle Connolly's physician-led research team.

The Mayfield physicians so honored:

Neurological and/or Spine Surgery

Mayfield's neurosurgical specialists have subspecialty training in the treatment of brain tumors, skull base tumors, brain aneurysms, stroke, Chiari malformation, spinal disease, scoliosis, and complex spinal deformity. Their expertise ranges from minimally invasive procedures to open cranial and spinal procedures.

Mayfield's physical medicine & rehabilitation specialists are experts at diagnosing and treating acute or chronic back and neck pain. They offer non-invasive treatments (such as physical therapy, massage, exercise, and braces) as well as minimally invasive interventions for pain (such as steroid injections, nerve blocks and ablations, and spinal cord stimulation).

Dr. Warnick, a brain tumor specialist and Co-Director of the Gamma Knife Center at The Jewish Hospital-Mercy Health, was named to all three lists.

"The newest top doctors listings confirm Mayfield's commitment to superior patient care and outcomes," said Mayfield Chairman Andrew Ringer, MD. "A good outcome means finding the right answer, the right care, and the right treatment. Mayfield delivers all three across all subspecialty areas of brain and spine care. As a result, Mayfield is the most highly recognized neurosurgical practice in the region and one of the most admired in the world."

Mark Farrington, CEO of Mayfield Brain & Spine, commended the physicians for providing superior care to their patients every day. "Our doctors have earned the high regard of their peers through a shared culture of customer service, continuous quality improvement, and treatment that is carefully considered and expertly delivered," Mr. Farrington said. "Whether that treatment involves surgery, rehabilitation, pain management, or physical therapy, Mayfield's mission is to provide the very best neurosurgical care to our patients."
