Dr. Shahed Elhamdani and Dr. Daniel Kreatsoulas join Mayfield Brain & Spine

CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY, AND CINCINNATI – Fellowship-trained neurosurgeons Dr. Shahed Elhamdani and Dr. Daniel Kreatsoulas have joined Mayfield Brain & Spine and are seeing patients in its office in Crestview Hills, Ky. They will perform surgeries at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Ky., as well as the Mayfield Spine Surgery Center in Norwood and other regional health systems.

Dr. Elhamdani brings advanced training in spinal deformity surgery, minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery and motion preservation surgery, while Dr. Kreatsoulas specializes in skull base surgery and endoscopic techniques to treat malignant and benign brain tumors. Like all Mayfield neurosurgeons, they are trained in the full spectrum of surgeries to treat disorders affecting the brain and the spine.

The additions further feed the growth at Mayfield, the nationally recognized independent practice. Overall, Mayfield is adding four physicians this year for a total of 31 – up more than 15% compared to a year ago. Neuro-oncologist Dr. Richard Curry started in March 2026, and Mayfield will add another neurosurgeon in September, working out of the Springboro office near Dayton.

Beyond the Northern Kentucky and Springboro offices, Mayfield serves patients at locations in Norwood, Anderson Township, Green Township and West Chester.

Dr. Elhamdani joins Mayfield after completing two advanced fellowships: Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Spinal Surgery at Cedars Sinai Spine Center in Los Angeles, and Complex and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Alleghany Health Network in Pittsburgh. He grew up in Huntington, W.Va., and earned his medical degree at the Joan C. Edward School of Medicine at Marshall University.

Dr. Kreatsoulas completed a Neurosurgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Miami Hospitals. An Ohio native, he earned his medical degree at the Northeast Ohio Medical University, known as NEOMED.
