Top doctors, best doctors, your doctors

CINCINNATI – Patient care is at the forefront at Mayfield Brain & Spine, with neurosurgeons and specialists at the independent neurosurgery practice continuing to be recognized among the region’s best.

In rankings from local publications, Mayfield physicians earned recognition among the most highly regarded clinicians in surveys of other doctors and patients. They served more than 32,700 patients in 2024.

At Mayfield’s core are the physicians and providers who serve our patients, when and where they need care,” said Mark Vorherr, Mayfield’s chief executive officer. “Our physicians’ unmatched expertise and compassion for every patient has sustained Mayfield’s recognition as one of the nation’s leading independent neurosurgery practices.”

Mayfield neurosurgeons diagnose and treat brain and spine disorders including brain tumors, brain aneurysms, stroke, Chiari malformation, scoliosis and spinal deformity. Their expertise ranges from minimally invasive procedures to open cranial and spinal surgeries, and they operate in the region's leading hospitals to bring care closer to patients.

Mayfield's interventional pain physicians and physical medicine & rehabilitation specialists help patients with acute or chronic back and neck pain with minimally invasive interventions such as steroid injections and spinal cord stimulation trials.

In its Top Doctors edition, Cincinnati Magazine featured the care for brain tumor patients provided by neurosurgeons Dr. Vincent DiNapoli and Dr. Ronald Warnick, along with Mayfield’s expert brain tumor team. They discussed The Brain Tumor Institute at Mayfield, launched in late 2024 by the Mayfield Education & Research Foundation. Mayfield will be the hub of the network of expertise and collaboration that aims to make Greater Cincinnati a national destination for elite brain tumor care. "Patients with brain tumors need coordinated support from a range of surgeons and specialists, no matter where they receive their care," said Dr. DiNapoli, chairman of Mayfield’s Board of Directors and director of the new Brain Tumor Institute. "The Brain Tumor Institute at Mayfield will help build the infrastructure to move us toward that ambitious goal."
