Dr. Ryan Tackla joins Mayfield Brain & Spine
CINCINNATI–Mayfield Brain & Spine is proud to announce the hiring of Ryan Tackla, MD, a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in in vascular neurosurgery. He opened his practice in Cincinnati on August 5, 2020.
Dr. Tackla has expertise in open and endovascular approaches for the treatment of brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and arteriovenous fistulas. He also performs carotid angioplasty and stenting, carotid endarterectomy, embolization of tumors, and kyphoplasty for spinal fractures. He treats ischemic stroke, intracranial atherosclerosis, cavernous malformations, vascular lesions of the spine, Chiari malformations, and brain tumors.
Dr. Tackla will see patients at Mayfield's office in Norwood and will perform surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital, The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health, Bethesda North Hospital, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, and the Mayfield Spine Surgery Center.
Dr. Tackla earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He also completed a residency in neurosurgery and a fellowship in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at UC under the direction of Mayfield physicians. He was in private practice with Oklahoma Spine & Brain Institute in Tulsa from 2017 to 2020.
Dr. Tackla is board eligible with the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American College of Surgeons, and American Academy of Neurology.
