Dr. Warnick named to Novalis Circle Expert Group

Ronald Warnick, MD, has been named the ninth member of the international Novalis Circle Expert Group which focuses on quality and safety in stereotactic radiosurgery. Dr. Warnick explains, "Stereotactic radiosurgery is a complex, multistep procedure that requires a robust quality assurance program. The Novalis Certification process involves a systematic, proactive analysis that provides external validation of a center's safety culture, thereby ensuring the highest level of patient care."

Cassie's Story: Pituitary tumor

Only by accident did Cassie discover that she had a pituitary tumor causing excessive production of growth hormone, a rare condition known as acromegaly. She wasn't sure where to turn. As Cassie shares, "When people found out I had a brain tumor, they all said Mayfield is where you want to go." That's when she met Yair Gozal, MD, PhD, a fellowship-trained skull base surgeon who specializes in these rare tumors.

Bryan Krueger, MD, a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in spinal disorders and minimally invasive spine surgery has joined Mayfield Brain & Spine. He has particular expertise in spinal deformity, scoliosis, revision spine surgery, degenerative spine conditions, sacroiliac joint fusion, spine tumors, spine trauma, and Chiari malformation. Dr. Krueger will see patients at our Norwood office.

Lisa Cleveland, PT, and Emily Begley, PTA, from the Mayfield Physical Therapy team, joined Liz Bonis and Mayfield patient, Susan, to demonstrate and discuss the benefits of dry needling. All Mayfield physical therapists are certified to provide this treatment with the goal of relaxing the soft tissue to improve the success of a home physical therapy plan, including appropriate stretching and strengthening exercises.

The award was announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts in New York. The Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals.
