Dr. Yair Gozal joins Mayfield Brain & Spine

CINCINNATI–Mayfield Brain & Spine is proud to announce the hiring of Yair Gozal, MD, PhD, a neurosurgeon who treats a wide range of diseases and disorders of the brain and spine. Dr. Gozal will open his practice in Cincinnati August 1.

Dr. Gozal has particular expertise in the treatment of pituitary tumors, brain tumors, meningioma and acoustic neuroma tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, and cerebral aneurysms. He specializes in open and endoscopic skull base surgery, complex cranial surgery, stereotactic radiosurgery, and minimally invasive spine surgery, including discectomies, decompressions, and fusions. He will also perform Gamma Knife® radiosurgery.

Dr. Gozal will see patients at the Mayfield office in Norwood and perform surgery at The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health, Good Samaritan Hospital, The Christ Hospital, and the Mayfield Spine Surgery Center.

Dr. Gozal earned his doctorate and medical degrees from Emory University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed his neurosurgical residency with Mayfield and the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He continued his training with a fellowship in skull base and open cerebrovascular neurosurgery at the University of Utah.

Dr. Gozal is board eligible with the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Ohio State Neurosurgical Society, and American Medical Association.
