Dr. Michael Kachmann joins Mayfield Clinic

CINCINNATI–The Mayfield Clinic & Spine Institute is proud to announce the hiring of Michael C. Kachmann, MD (formerly Michael C. Sharts, MD), a neurosurgeon who treats a wide range of diseases and disorders of the brain and spine. Dr. Kachmann opens his practice in northeastern Cincinnati today.

Dr. Kachmann has particular expertise in the treatment of spinal pathologies ranging from simple disc herniations to complex spinal deformities and metastatic spine tumors. He is thoroughly trained in minimally invasive techniques and complex spinal reconstructive surgery.

His practice is based at Mayfield’s office at the TriHealth Pavilion in Montgomery. He will perform surgery at Bethesda North Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health, Mercy Hospital Fairfield, The Christ Hospital Spine Surgery Center, University of Cincinnati Medical Center and UC Health West Chester Hospital.

Dr. Kachmann was in practice with East Carolina University Neurosurgical and Spine Center in Greenville, N.C., from 2007 to 2014. He earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2000 and subsequently completed a residency in neurosurgery and one-year fellowship in complex spine surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Kachmann is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is board certified with the American Board of Neurological Surgeons.
