UC Departments of Neurosurgery and Neurology ranked among nation's best
July 7, 2000 - US News & World Report has announced the results of its 2000 Guide to America's Best Hospitals, and The University Hospital in Cincinnati is ranked 27th in Neurology and Neurosurgery. Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati is ranked 45 in Neurology and Neurosurgery. The Department of Neurosurgery at both hospitals is led by physicians of the Mayfield Clinic, and staffed by faculty and residents of the University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery. The US News & World Report 2000 "America's Best Hospitals" rankings assess care for 17 specialties at 1,701 hospitals nationwide. To even be consideredfor this list, a hospital has to be a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals, be affiliated with a medical school or provide at least nine of 17 specific technologies.
